What You Need To Know About Mexican Catering

If someone were hosting an event at which there was going to be food, what would some good choices be if it were going to be done by a business that offers Mexican catering?  That is a good question depending on what time of day the event is going to be taking place, and also for what occasion the event is being held for. Say for instance, it is going to be a business luncheon after a long morning of meetings?  If so, then there are some must haves when it comes to Mexican catering.

Mexican catering can cover a wide variety of foods from tacos to burritos to enchiladas, but that isn't all there is. Assuming someone has already chosen a caterer for the event, then all that is left are the food choices. There are many people that have food allergies these days and this is something to consider even with this type of cuisine. One of the more common food allergies is milk or a lactose intolerance. So planning at least one dish that would be absent of this product is a smart choice if someone were feeding a large group.

So, what are some common and delicious food choices when it comes to Mexican catering? Fajitas are a general choice that is preferred by many. The nice option with Fajita's is the variety of meat choices that can be offered. Whether it is steak, chicken or shrimp, or even vegetarian, there is one to suit almost any palate. This would also be a good choice if one were thinking of people that may be lactose intolerant, because any dairy is only offered as an optional topping. Enchiladas are also a good choice, whether they are cheese, beef or chicken. These are typically made with a milder sauce which would be preferred for a large group. Tacos are also good choices since there can be a variance on these as well. They can be made with ground or shredded beef, chicken, shrimp, and fish, as well as other meats. Just be sure to keep in mind the group that will be eating them. Shellfish is also a common allergen, so only offering one shrimp dish may be a smart choice. Chile Rellenos are also another popular choice by restaurant goers, so it is naturally a popular choice when it comes to feeding a large crowd.

As for side dishes, many people love to enjoy flavorful Spanish rice or some freshly made refried beans. These are both common side dishes with Mexican catering, as well as fresh tortillas. Chips and salsa with some guacamole is also very common. Additional sides that are typically provided are sour cream, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo.

Now, if someone were hosting a morning event, here are some popular choices to choose from. Breakfast burritos are typically a hit because they are a dish that is all-in-one, so to speak. Many of them come with egg, a meat such as chorizo, cheese, potatoes and pico de gallo. Other singular options are eggs, chorizo, tortillas, Mexican potatoes, different cheese blends, salsas, as well as offering fruits. Additional items can include sour cream and guacamole. Either way, when it comes to feeding a crowd of people, this is an excellent cuisine choice!
